In terms of story and reveals in the intended order that I would recommend, you should just go 1-2-3-4-5 If you want to play it in chronological order you’d play 3-1-4-2-5 but that would make the gameplay feel horrible as you’d go from 3 (which people consider the best) to 1 (which is alright but it’s the first game so it’s obviously going to be less in-depth) to 4 (personal favourite
V is hardly a hardest character to play as, his entire moveset is just least precise and his combat relies mainly on awareness of your surroundings. Dante on other hand can unleash hell in hands of a good player and that requires serious mastery over all of his style switching and weapon swapping according to situation or combos. Ory620713.
Make sure you do not slide from attack to jump. You have to pick your finger up from attack to jump, then slide to attack. Even though you can JC nearly everything, including guns, it's best to learn to jc single hit rave. Dante's timing is slightly faster than Nero's. JC is much easier in DMC5 than in previous titles.
No it's developed as a independent, new storyline, away from any other DMC. You can go through the story of DmC without even knowing the OG series at all. However due to poor reception from fans it's story ending points at sequels/future development that likely won't happen any time soon, keep that in mind instead.

This isn't like KH where you have to play ever game to even remotely understand the story. The DMC story is pretty simplistic, so yea you can play it without having to worry all that much about playing the others. There is a recap of the story in the game though. I have to imagine this is going to make it harder to play the other ones. R6kk.
