For myself I started off with finding a quality shop to modify the seat, both for comfort and height reduction. Secondly I had a race tech dismantle the suspension and "re shim" them. I've found that to be an excellent compromise. Total seat height reduction was over 2 inches. Total cost was about $750. Canadian.
